Actor Deyemi Okanlawon has said that he is tempted to release the emails he sent to top filmmakers who ignored him before he became famous but working with him now.
The Omo Ghetto actor said this on Twitter on Thursday.
The 43-year-old said he sent emails to top producers and directors in 2011 and 2012 but they were ignored.
He wrote: “All I can say is that a lot has happened since that first EL film in 2012… if I didn’t continuously improve on my skill, deliver consistently regardless of pay, show professionalism, or had a bad personality I’m not certain the relationship with EL would have lasted this long.
“I remember how all DMs and emails sent as far back as 2011/2012 to top producers and directors, who I’ve now worked with, were ignored. I still go back to those emails as a reminder that no never really means no.”
Speaking further, Deyemi said he might do a thread on the emails he sent out to filmmakers at the beginning of his career.
“I’m so tempted to do a thread on the emails and DMs I sent to producers and directors (not actors) in the beginning,” he wrote.
Deyemi was recently listed as the highest-grossing actor in 2021 according to the list compiled by the Nigerian Box Office.
Celebrating his latest achievement in an Instagram post, the movie star said the only sweeter thing than being listed as the highest-grossing actor is earning the position twice and starring in movies with over one billion Naira box office revenue.
