Actor Deyemi Okanlawon has been unveiled as the new General Aronimoja in Lisabi: A Legend Is Born, the highly-anticipated sequel to Lateef Adedimeji’s epic movie Lisabi: The Uprising.
Lateef announced on Instagram on Thursday that the trailer for the sequel will be released on Friday, adding that the movie is set to premiere soon.
The actor also shared a masked image from the film, teasing fans to guess the identity of the character.
“The wait is over; the official trailer of LISABI 2 – A LEGEND IS BORN drops tomorrow, and we’re excited because you’re about to witness greatness,” Lateef wrote.
“Look at this image, who do you think is behind the mask? There might be a little gift for anyone who guesses correctly. Lisabi – A Legend Is Born is finally here.”
In a follow-up post on Friday, Lateef unveiled Deyemi as the face behind the masked character.
Sharing a photo of Deyemi without the mask he wrote, “Lisabi: A Legend Is Born … and ladies & gentlemen, this is how you do a reveal! 😎😎😎 #Part2De #LisabiDe #OminiraDe.”
Lisabi: A Legend Is Born is executive-produced by Lateef Adedimeji, and directed by Niyi Akinmolayan.
The project is a collaboration between Al Notions Studios and Anthill Studios, with the story written by Niyi Akinmolayan and Yinka Olaoye.
The first installment, Lisabi: The Uprising, set the stage for the epic saga.
The sequel, Lisabi: A Legend Is Born, is scheduled for release in January 10, 2025.
The film features a star-studded cast including Femi Adebayo, Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Yekini (Itele), Mo Bimpe, Eniola Ajao, Liquorose Afije, Ibrahim Chatta and Lateef Adedimeji.
