Nollywood actress, scriptwriter, director and producer, Omoni Oboli, is celebrating 16 years of marriage to her author and counsellor husband.
And a fulfilled Nnamdi Oboli has nothing but lovely words for the woman he married while was still 22.
“I didn’t do anything to deserve the wife God gave me,” Mr Oboli wrote in an Instagram post on Friday.
One of the most visible Nollywood husbands, Nnamdi, who was at the Toronto International Film Festival for the screening of his wife’s Okafor’s Law, said the 38-year-old “still keeps me totally ravaged.”
In her own message, Omoni asked “Do you know what today is?”
Writing on a throwback picture of the pair, she continued “It’s our anniversary. It’s been 16 years baby! About 17 from this picture when you came to see me on one of your many weekend trips to Uniben.”
Omoni made her Nollywood debut in 1996 with Bitter Encounter.
She appeared in a few more productions before leaving to complete her university education.
She got married immediately after school and didn’t return to the industry till a decade later.
Her marriage has produced three children – Tobe, Gozi and Chizi – all boys.
