Diego Costa scored an injury-time equaliser as Chelsea came from behind to draw Manchester United 1-1 on Sunday at Stamford Bridge.
The Brazilian-born striker equalised as stoppage time had only just begun, keeping The Blues’ hopes of a top ten finish alive, while handing United a big blow in their chances of making the top four sides this season.
Jesse Lingard had scored a wonderful go ahead goal for Louis van Gaal’s men, but the Red Devils were not able to handle the pressure Chelsea exercised as the game came to a close, leading to Costa’s late goal.
Costa’s performances have been crucial for Chelsea during Guus Hiddink’s stint as The Blues’ coach.
His sixth strike in seven ensured that the Dutchman remains unbeaten since taking over the helms of affair from Jose Mourinho.
The Spanish striker has also handed out two assists in equal number of games – surpassing his stats while being coached by the Portuguese in 21 games.
United moved to 45 points but remain 5th while Chelsea are 13th with 15 point less.
