Di’ja is a year older

Mavin princess, as Di’ja, is a year older today Friday, August 14.

Born Hadiza Blell to a Sierra Leonean father and Nigerian mother, she is a singer, visual artist, fashion designer and songwriter.

The ‘Awww’ singer was signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records on Valentine’s Day 2014.

Her first official single under Mavin Records was also released on that day.

The song, which is titled ‘Yaro’, is an up-tempo celebration of love and commitment against all odds.

It infuses Hausa and Creole dialects in honour of her Nigerian and Sierra Leonean roots.

In May 2014, Di’Ja was featured on ‘Dorobucci’ alongside label mates Don Jazzy, Dr SID, Tiwa Savage, D’Prince, Korede Bello and Reekado Banks.

She also featured in ‘Looku Looku’ and ‘Adaobi’.

Her latest single is titled ‘Amin’.
