Former Speaker of House of Representatives Dimeji Bankole and former governor of Ogun State Gbenga Daniel on Monday visited the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The duo who recently joined the All Progressives Congress met President Muhammadu Buhari as a formal way of announcing their arrival into the party.
A tweet by the Federal Government read: “President @MBuhari received the New Members of APC- Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniels and Former Speaker, Hon. Dimeji Bankole at the State House, Abuja.”
Bankole concluded plans to join APC following his meeting in mid-March with APC caretaker chairman Mai Mala Buni in Abuja. They were joined by Jigawa State Governor Abubakar Bagudu.
Daniel, meanwhile, officially announced he was joining the APC in February. The ex-governor was the campaign manager of the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in 2019 Atiku Abubakar.
