Senator Dino Melaye on Tuesday evening suffered defeat in the rerun primary of Peoples Democratic Party for Kogi West Senatorial District.
Melaye polled 99 votes while Tajudeen Yusuf aka TJ Yusuf, who is currently representing Kabba/Bunu Ijumu Federal constituency, got 163 votes.
Both Melaye and TJ Yusuf, a three-term House of Representatives member, polled 88 votes apiece, forcing a rerun.
In a tweet, Melaye alleged there was a gang-up against him.
“The Primary has been fought and won. I congratulate Hon. T.J YUSUF and thank all those who voted in the first and second ballot for me. The Gang up is unimaginable but l give God praise. God bless you all,” he said.
