Senator Dino Melaye has mourned the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, who died of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Kyari becomes the first high-profile government official to die of the deadly disease in Nigeria.
Tweeting on Saturday, Melaye commiserated with the family of the deceased and urged members of the public to be prepared to die someday.
“May the soul of Abba Kyari the chief of staff to Mr President rest in peace. May God grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss. Everyone must complete this circle someday. Be prepared,” he wrote.
Kyari’s death comes three weeks after being diagnosed with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
He was receiving treatment at a private hospital in Lagos.
