Senator Dino Melaye has engaged female banana hawkers in a discussion on the coronavirus pandemic.
The former Kogi lawmaker, who has been vocal on social media about the public staying safe at home to avoid contracting the deadly disease, shared a video of his time with the traders on social media on Wednesday.
Dressed in white outfit and a face mask, Melaye encourages the traders to stay at home and avoid risking their lives and that of their families.
The location where the incident occurred was not immediately cleared.
During their discussion, one of the traders said she had no choice but to come out despite the risk so she could feed her six children.
The former legislator gave each of the five women cash and urged them to return home to their families.
