Dino Melaye’s sister-in-law dies in Lagos

Senator Dino Melaye, who represented Kogi West Senatorial District in the eighth National Assembly, has lost his sister-in-law Damilola Melaye.

The former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State announced the development on Thursday on behalf of the Melaye family.

The deceased was the wife of his brother Timothy Melaye.

According to the former federal lawmaker, Mrs Melaye died on Wednesday in Lagos following a brief illness.

The family requested prayer from the general public as they mourn.

“With total submission to God almighty. I on behalf of the Melaye dynasty announce the transition into glory of our beloved daughter and sister-in-law (Damilola Melaye) wife of Timothy Melaye, whose sad death occurred on Wednesday 4th December, 2024 in Lagos after a brief illness. We request your prayers in this very difficult and trying times for the family. God bless you all,” the announcement posted on social media read.

This comes five years after the ex-legislator lost his mother Comfort Melaye in 2019.

Announcing her death on social media, he wrote: “With total submission to the will of the Almighty God, I on behalf of the Melaye’s announce the passing into Glory of our beloved mother.

“Deconess Comfort Melaye. We thank God for the godly life she lived. I love you my mother and Friend. We shall surely meet again.

“You are still alive because you live in me. I know you will never leave me my dependable mother, sister and best friend.

“You were more than just a mother. You gave your tomorrow for my today. Mummy, the cloud is without form, but I take solace in the fact that we shall see again.”
