Disgraced factional NFF boss, Chris Giwa, declares for Senate

Chris Giwa

After being disgraced by FIFA, factional President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mr Chris Giwa, has declared his intention to run for Senate.

Giwa had portrayed himself as the legally elected boss of the Glass House.

However, an impending FIFA forced the Federal Government to recognise the Amaju Pinnick-led group instead.

The relentless Giwa has now switched attention to Plateau North Senatorial seat on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Giwa made his intention known when he visited state officials of the party at its secretariat on Wednesday in Jos.

According to him, his decision to contest was borne out of his desire to give the people of the zone a voice.

“I am not contesting because I am hungry, but my mission in 2019 is to ensure that the All Progressives Congress lose in my zone and the state in general,” the embattled football administrator revealed.

Giwa assured that he would remain and work for the party even if he failed to secure the senate ticket, adding that the interest of the party was above personal interests.

“I don’t see my fellow aspirants as enemies. I see them as brothers and partners in progress. We are all aspiring because we want PDP to take over power in 2019,” he said.

“So, the outcome of the primaries does not really matter to me. I assure you that I will not leave the party even if I lose at the primaries.”
