Celebrity disc jockey and singer, DJ Cuppy, has spoken on the importance of girl-child empowerment at the launch of #She Is Equal campaign on Wednesday.
The disc jockey, born Florence Otedola, spoke at the campaign which was launched by Global Citizen as an ambassador of the organization.
At the event which held in Brussels, Belgium, Cuppy said, “Anything you can do I can do bleeding.”
“I want it to be the dream of every girl out there, to teach the most powerful men in her country something. That will only happen if she is equal and getting her there is all of our responsibility,” she added.
The 25-year-old DJ is the daughter of Nigerian businessman Femi Otedola, the chairman of Forte Oil.
In April 2014, DJ Cuppy was appointed by Nigeria’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation (Edem Duke) as the tourism ambassador for the country’s ‘Fascinating Nigeria’ campaign.
DJ Cuppy became one of Pepsi’s DJ ambassadors alongside 3 others in Nigeria.
