Social media critic Martins Ortse popularly known as VeryDarkMan has shared that music producer Don Jazzy donated N100 million to his NGO account.

Late Wednesday, VDM had raised concerns after discovering that an unidentified individual had transferred N100 million to his NGO account, bringing the total balance to N170 million.

In a video posted on Instagram, VeryDarkMan expressed his initial anxiety fearing that the unexpected donation could be part of an attempt to frame him for financial misconduct, including potential money laundering.

Addressing his followers he said, “Please Nigerians, come and help me. Someone sent me N100 million into my NGO account. Hope someone is not trying to set me up. I now have N170 million inside my NGO account.”

The activist urged Zenith Bank where the account is held to investigate the origin of the funds and ensure his name was cleared from any fraudulent activities.

He emphasised that he has no involvement in money laundering or fraudulent transactions.

In an update on Thursday on his Instagram account, VeryDarkMan claimed that Don Jazzy had reached out to inform him that he made the donation to support the cause.

He said, “Guys, yesterday I posted that I received N100m in my account. I did not receive an alert. I just saw that the money had increased from N70m to N170m plus.

“I panicked because I didn’t expect anybody to just send me N100m like that, so I thought it was a glitch or maybe someone wanted to set me up, because people had been sending N50, N100, N200, N500 and so on, and it’s understandable for me to panic.”

After contacting everyone he knew to find out who might have sent the money, he eventually received a message from Don Jazzy.

The message read, “Morning bro. Just saw your post. Na me send N100m to support. I believe in what you are doing and trust you to be as transparent as you have always been.

“We really need that in our country. I wish you all the best with the project and more blessings to you. It’s not easy.”
