Afrobeat star Femi Kuti has advised his son Made Kuti against following some of the footsteps of his father late Fela Kuti.
The 59-year-old playfully said this at a concert with Made, adding that Fela had many wives and his era was different.
Addressing his crew members and turning to his son, the man said: “If this boy changes I’ll sue you all, don’t do what they are doing ooo. They will say ‘be like Fela’ don’t mind them.
“Be yourself. That’s why God made only Fela, only Fela can do what Fela did, Imagine marrying 27 wives, I mean he was sleeping five times a day.
The father and son also thrilled fans with their performance at the event.
On December 7, Femi said that bagging Grammy nominations with his son Made was extra special.
“When you get to share Grammy nominations with your Son, @madekuti it’s extra special. Thank you to the academy, (to everyone who voted #Legacy+) @recordingacademy for the recognition, my wonderful team and family,” he wrote on Instagram.
Femi and Made Kuti was nominated for Best Global Music Album and Best Global Music Performance at the 2022 Grammy Award ceremony.
