Twenty-six years after meeting at the University of Lagos and going on to become one of the most easily recognisable couples in Nigeria, Tunde and Wunmi Obe (TWO) are definitely in a position to advise on how to make a relationship work.
That exactly is what they have done in ‘Wedding Day’, one of the two singles released today.
Featuring Teniim, the showbiz power couple tell men seeking good women for marriage: “don’t get distracted…attracted to a girl’s beauty.”
It is not that beauty is a bad thing. They are quick to tell you that “the things that really matter are more than eyes can see.”
Two years after dropping their last single, TWO are back with two new singles they are sure will command respect on airwaves and beyond.
Written by the couple themselves, ‘Green White Green’ and ‘Wedding day’ were produced by Bayo Joseph for BJay Productions.
Featuring pop icon, 2Face Idibia, ‘Green White Green’ advocates for peace and unity in Nigeria, while Wedding Day is a song of love and advice on the institution of marriage.
“We are glad to be back with these new singles and we know that with the collaborations associated with the singles, Nigerians will welcome the songs with open arms,” said Wunmi Obe.
With ‘Green White Green’, TWO have lent a passionate voice to the nationwide cry to stop the bloodshed, kidnapping and other violent acts occurring with persistent frequency in the country today.
“It baffles me more each day. How people can seat down somewhere and plan the death and destruction of their fellow man?” Tunde Obe asked.
In all of that, they leave no one in doubt when they say “I believe in this entity called Naija.”
