Senator Shehu Sani has advised the embattled governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, not to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mr Obaseki left the APC after being disqualified from contesting in the party’s governorship primary for the state scheduled for June 22.
Sani, in a tweet on Thursday, described the APC as ‘Egypt’.
“Oh yea Godwin, return not to Egypt where thee art called Obasek,” he wrote.
Obaseki is yet to confirm the new party where he will be seeking re-election.
Sani, on the other hand, sought another term at the Senate on the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) platform during the last general elections.
The senator had dumped the APC for the PRP three days after he was denied the ticket to contest for the Kaduna South seat on the APC platform.
His rift with the state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, was believed to have cost him the ticket.
