Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba, has admitted that he would fancy the prospect of becoming the next manager of the club.
Drogba, who currently plies his trade in the MLS with Montreal Impact – disclosed that he has an agreement to return to Stamford Bridge once he finishes playing and wants it to be as manager.
The 37-year-old has been a prominent figure for the Blues since his arrival in 2004 – until his departure in 2012, before making another return in the 2014-2015 campaign.
He managed to net a total of 164 goals from his two spells at the club and has now revealed his intentions of returning in a non-playing role.
“I want to give back to the club which has given so much to me. I have agreed that with the club directors,” he told BBC Africa.
“Why not manager? Why not sporting director, trainer at the academy or maybe an advising role for strikers?” he asked.
Chelsea are currently 15th on the league table after struggling to pick up points as they have already registered seven losses from their first 13 matches of the competition.
