A Twitter user who begged singer, Brymo, to help pay his school fee got the most unconventional of answers when the Lagos State University (LASU) dropout advised him to do same because “school is not for everyone”.
School is not for everyone. Just drop out and chase your dreams, it’s what I did… https://t.co/V0C8ag0YfK

The user with the handle @Da_Yor had asked the former Chocolate City artiste to contribute to the N65000 needed to pay his tuition fee.
Brymo did not only tell him to drop out of school, the Okokomaiko, Lagos born and raised carpenter’s son declared that many people who go to school are not educated.
This is why there are so many schooled people and very few educated ones.Misplaced priorities is why society is struggling,we are pretending

He added that dropping out of made him one of the best musicians in Nigeria today and he can advise others to do same.
Dropping out helped me find myself,it is why I am one of Nigeria’s finest musicians of all time today.I can advice you to leave school.

The debate soon escalated with other users adding their voices.
Are you sure its not lack of education that made Brymo not read his contract clause with Chocolate city properly and thus breach it?

Brymo’s response to the tweep asking for help was very stupid. If you don’t want to help someone, don’t. But don’t talk down on their dreams

In all honesty
Brymo has shown why education is important by his response to that student— Anyadu (@The_Africanist) June 5, 2016
Brymo said nothing wrong IMO. He shared his own experience.Anyone can give you an advice but it is your own capacity to adhere to it or not.

Hardly a surprise. Brymo advising fan to drop out of school is same artiste who didn’t understand his recording contract? #Education

???????????? You gotta love Brymo though. Being popular with people has never been his mission.

I don’t see anything controversial in what Brymo tweeted. More and more people are asking themselves what they got from formal schooling.
