The Department of State Services (DSS) on Thursday brought leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu to the Federal High Court in Abuja.
He was brought to the court at about 8 am amid tight security.
Journalists, lawyers and staff of the court were barred from entering the court premises.
Thousands of security operatives comprising the police, Nigerian Army and DSS operatives were deployed around surrounding environments.
Last week, the Federal Government filed an amended seven-count charge against Kanu.
In June, the Nigerian government announced that the IPOB leader had been re-arrested and extradited to Nigeria to continue his trial.
The location where he was intercepted remains a subject of controversy.
