The Department of State Services (DSS) has released the former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Abdulrasheed Bawa.
Mr Bawa was freed from the national headquarters of the secret police in Abuja on Wednesday night.
He spent a total of 134 days in detention without being charged to court, reportedly refusing to write a statement and get a lawyer.

Court sets aside conviction of EFCC chairman Bawa
Bawa was arrested and detained by the DSS on June 14, 2023, following an invite over undisclosed reasons, after he visited President Bola Tinubu earlier on the same day.
It was gathered that Bawa was being probed for alleged financial impropriety during his years in the anti-graft agency.
Bawa’s release comes after Tinubu appointed a new chairman for the EFCC, Ola Olukoyede, who probed Bawa in 2019 over alleged sales of seized assets worth over N4.8 billion.
