Managing director/chief executive officer of Transcorp Hotels Plc Dupe Olusola on Monday shared photos on social media of her experience at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) which began on September 18 in New York, United States.
Mrs Olusola was part of the delegation from the conglomerate led by its chairman Tony Elumelu to UNGA.
She expressed joy at meeting the United States Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, Adewale ‘Wally’ Adeyemo; CNN International anchor, Richard Quest; and Albert Bourla, the chief executive officer of Pfizer, an American pharmaceutical company.
Olusola noted that “it is truly Africa’s time and that it’s time for us as individuals be more patriotic to our country, to be more positive about our words concerning Nigeria and to be more intentional about the narrative we push towards our nation.”

“Truly, no one is going to fix this country but us. We must believe it and see the good that we have and the good that we are. So, it’s time to rise up – each of us has a part to play,” she added.
Adeyemo was in Nigeria last week as the US seeks to deepen economic ties with Africa and counter China’s influence on the continent.
The 42-year-old, who is the highest-ranking member of the African diaspora in the Biden administration, emigrated from Nigeria to the United States as a child.
