Actresses Ebele Okaro, Rita Edochie and Ify Okeke have joined others in mourning their colleague, Nkechi Nweje, who died at age 55 after a brief illness.
Nkechi’s death was announced by her colleagues on Instagram on Friday, sparking an outpouring of grief from the Nollywood community.
Ebele Okaro paid tribute to the late actress on Saturday, describing her as a kind and loving person.
“Life is unpredictable, no one knows who is next. Let us learn to live in peace, love, and harmony… Nkechi was an embodiment of all.
“Her laughter was infectious and soothing. Generous to a fault and always accommodating. You were a gem on earth, we will miss you greatly. May your soul rest in perfect peace,” she wrote.
Rita Edochie shared a candlelight image with a dark background, writing, “This world is really not our home.”
Ify Okeke also honoured Nkechi, recalling her warm personality. “Rest in Peace Nwanyi Onitsha. All I can see is your smiling face. Jee nke oma,” she wrote.
Other actors, including Destiny Etiko, Rachael Okonkwo, Stanley Ontop, Yul Edochie, Anita Joseph and Emeka Okoye, have also expressed their condolences over her passing.
