Nigerian-English midfielder Eberechi Eze was left disappointed on Saturday as his club Crystal Palace lost 0-4 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The first half ended goalless, but Frank Lampard’s team came out ruthless in the second half to put four past their London neighbours in the first Premier League match of the day.
One goal each from Ben Chilwell and Kurt Zouma and two penalties converted by Jorginho handed victory to Chelsea.
Eze was on Friday called up to the England Under-21 squad for their Andorra and Turkey UEFA EURO Championship qualifiers.
He currently has six Under-20 caps and has made three Under-21 appearances.
The 22-year-old former QPR player still qualifies to play for Nigeria as he has never featured for England at senior level.
