Entertainer turned politician, Banky W, has declared that neither he nor his friend, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, has any influence over the choice of housemates for the Big Brother Naija reality TV show.
The 37-year-old made the clarification in a message he posted on Twitter on Tuesday in apparent response to those who think he could help them make it to the show.
He started by congratulating those who would apply for audition before adding that Ebuka and himself no influence or involvement over who gets selected.
Ebuka’s work as host, he said, only starts when the finalists are in the house.
“I also have ZERO influence, so please stop asking me to talk to him.
“Just go for the auditions and kill it!” he wrote.
Organisers of Big Brother Naija announced on Tuesday that Ebuka will host the 2019 edition of the show.
It is the third consecutive year that the man who contested the first edition of the show held back in 2006 will serve as host.
There was speculation last year that one of the contestants, Cee-C, was Ebuka’s ex-girlfriend, a claim that was dismissed by all the parties involved.
Auditions for this year’s edition are scheduled to hold in February in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Ibadan, Enugu, Benin, Calabar and Warri.
Unlike the last two editions, the show will be recorded in Nigeria instead of South Africa.
Banky W was one of the celebrity guests that visited the Big Brother House in 2017.
