Singer Eedris Abdulkareem has appreciated his fans and colleagues for their prayers and support following his kidney failure announcement.
In a video posted on Instagram on Thursday, Eedris who is currently on dialysis spoke from his hospital bed and thanked everyone for their show of concern.
Speaking further, Eedris said he believes he will get better by the grace of Allah, adding that he feels strong.
He said in parts: “I want to thank you all for all your prayers and support and I just want you all to know that I’m gonna come out of this successfully by the grace of Almighty Allah. Today I am on my dialysis session it takes about three or four hours. Immediately after the dialysis session, I go out to do my normal daily activ”ities so I am strong in spirit body and soul. Thank you so so much. Your prayers and support are appreciated.
Eedris’ friend and colleague Myke Pam broke the news in an Instagram post on Wednesday, July 6.
Myke Pam said the singer was undergoing dialysis in a Lagos hospital and is scheduled to have a transplant by the end of July.
He added that the kidney to be transplanted was donated by a family member.
Meanwhile, in a phone conversation with Qed.ng founder Olumide Iyanda, Abdulkareem said he is in good spirit in spite of his diagnosis of kidney failure.
Confirming his state of health, the ‘Nigeria Jaga Jaga’ singer said “it is true I have a kidney failure, but I am in high spirit. I am very positive and everything will be well Insha Allah.”
He added that he is overwhelmed by the show of love by Nigerians who have been praying for him since the news of his diagnosis broke.
