Director-General, Voice of Nigeria (VON) Osita Okechukwu is currently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) where he is being quizzed over alleged fraud.
A source close to the anti-graft agency told NAN that Okechukwu was detained over an alleged case of conspiracy, abuse of office and misappropriation of public funds to the tune of N1.3billion.
The source added that the D-G arrived at the headquarters of the EFCC in Abuja at about 1.30pm on Saturday to honour its invitation.
When contacted, EFCC spokesperson Wilson Uwujaren confirmed Okechukwu was invited, but declined further comment.
