Filmmakers, Kemi Adetiba, Eyo Boyo and Mildred Okwo, were among the personalities that graced the cocktail event to officially launch RESET, the new theme for the seventh edition of the Lights Camera Africa!!! in 2017.
The event was held on Sunday at Bloom Art Gallery in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Speaking with guests at the event, the co-Founder, Lights Camera Africa!!!, Ugoma Adegoke, said that the theme for the 2017 edition is a recognition of the weakening world order, clashing civilisations and emerging trends, which she hopes would help “identify the error of our trajectories and retrace our steps in order to address issues in our own country, Nigeria”.
The three-day event starts on September 29 at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Attendance is free but interested participants must register.
Launched in 2011, Lights Camera Africa!!! has grown to become one of Africa’s landmark cultural events – with this year’s festival set to present a series of film works and conversations that examine issues in various spheres – including politics, science and the arts.
In addition to screenings, the festival also hosts a variety of workshops, seminars and talks that offer learning opportunities for filmmakers and consumers.
