Some people engage in one night stand because they want to have sex without emotions while others just do it because sex with a random person feels like a thrill. Either ways, it is important to have certain ground rules so you can plan your entry and exit without losing more than body fluid.

- Leave before the other person wakes up
To avoid the obvious conversation of “what are we now? just leave before he/she wakes up. You never can tell; the other person might want more than you can offer.
- Always use a fake name
Using your real name can cause a lot of confusion you cannot even begin to imagine. In order to be able to deny ever being involved in such atrocity like most people say, just use a fake name. It does not matter what name you choose, just be careful not to use one that rhymes with your real name.
- Never stay sober
Like T-Pain said; Blame it on the Alcohol. In case anyone ever questions your “indiscretion”, you can simply say you were drunk and lost control of yourself. In addition, anything you say or do that night will simply be attributed to the alcohol in your system.
- Wear a condom
Never ever forget to wear a condom except you want to end up like Katherine Heigl in Knocked Up. Pack it in your bag or wallet. For the ladies, you can have a contraceptive in hand. You can never be too careful.
- Spare the personal details
It is a one night stand not a first date. He/she wants to have sex with you not get to know you. Do not get too comfortable trying to tell the other person about your family background. Just dive in and get it over with as soon as you can.
- Be polite, offer breakfast
For men, just because you already got what you wanted does not mean you have to be a jerk. If you fail at rule no 1, try offering her breakfast. Chances are; she will refuse. If she does not, that might just be your luck.
- Do not make promises
Because it is a one night stand, you know deep within you that this is the best it is ever going to get with the other person. Do not make empty promises just because you want to get laid. It will not end well if the other person reads into things.
- Be emotionally prepared
Do not go into a one night stand thinking he/she is going to be your partner for life. Be prepared to never hear from him/her after that night. Going in prepared spares you unnecessary heartbreak.
