Olayemi Oyebanji, wife of Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, has been promoted to associate professor at the Department of Education Management, University of Ibadan.
The institution, it was learnt, backdated the promotion to 2022.
In a statement released on Thursday by her senior special assistant on media, Mrs Oyebanji described the feat as a long-awaited milestone.
She said: “I am thrilled to announce that I have been promoted to the position of Associate Professor of Educational Management at the University of Ibadan, effective from 2022.
“This milestone, though long-awaited, marks a significant step in my academic journey. I am grateful for the support from my faculty, department, and the recognition from the University of Ibadan.
“A heartfelt thank you to my wonderful husband, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, and my children for their support. I also dedicate this promotion to all the women of Ekiti State and beyond who inspire me every day.”
Mrs Oyebanji is due for the rank of full professor in 2025.
