Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Monday revealed his tweet about supporters of the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, was reported to Twitter.
El-Rufai appeared to mock Mr Obi’s supporters after one of them named Abdullahi Zarma on Twitter called for two million people to join the Kaduna rally for Obi.
El-Rufai reacted with laughing emojis, adding that he hopes Obi gets 200 people to join the rally.
His statement stirred controversy on social media, with many supporters of Obi attacking his personality.
Thereafter, the governor said Twitter received a complaint from a user in Germany about his tweet.
According to the private message sent by the microblogging site to El-Rufai, the content was not subject to removal under Twitter rules.
El-Rufai wrote that he found the whole thing hilarious.
“The desperation of so-called ‘Obidients’ knows no bounds….they insult everyone they disagree with, but cannot accept that some find them disagreeable & have opinions too!
“One of them in Germany found my tweet too hot to handle. @Twitter responded below. I STILL DEY LAFF!” He wrote.
