Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi in Lagos Oba Saheed Elegushi has debunked claims linking him to the son of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad.
The monarch, in a statement on Wednesday by his media consultant, Deyemi Saka, dissociated himself from the paternity dispute over Mohbad’s son, Liam.
The statement reads: “We are the media consultant to Elegushi Royal Family and we respond to a desperate attempt at dragging Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi to the paternity dispute over son of Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as ‘Mohbad’.
“The falsehood was promoted by some persons on the social media app, TikTok.
“First, this is to inform the public that the allegation is false and a figment of the imaginations of these persons.

“Second, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, through his lawyers, have filed a petition against these persons with the Police and security agencies to enforce his human rights and protect him from cyber bullies while he is hopeful the Police will collaborate with international security organisations in this quest for redress.
“Third, Oba Elegushi just as many Nigerians is sad by the demise of Mohbad, demanded a thorough investigation and a quick dispensation of justice.
“While we pray God grants the Alobas strength to bear the loss, people should refrain from dragging the integrity of Elegushi and the institution he represents to disrepute.”
Mohbad died aged 27 in controversial circumstances. Lagos State Police on September 18, 2023, inaugurated a 13-man investigation team to probe the singer’s death.
A Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ikorodu, Lagos is set to hear a suit by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, seeking a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test for Liam.
