American celebrities have taken to Twitter to send supportive words to Demi Lovato as she recovers from drug overdose.
Media reports by TMZ stated that the Mexico-born singer – who has fought substance abuse for several years – overdosed on Tuesday morning at her home in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles.
In a statement on Tuesday evening, her representative said the 25-year-old is stable and recovering with her family.
“Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support,” the statement read.
The hashtag #PrayForDemi trended on Twitter as celebrities have posted supportive words, including Missy Elliott, Ariana Grande, Ellen DeGeneres, Brad Paisley, Kesha, Bebe Rexha, Maren Morris, Kehlani and British electronic group Clean Bandit, whose current single ‘Solo’ features Lovato.
