Sacked OAU lecturer pleads guilty to sex-for-mark allegation

A former lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile Ife, Richard Akindele has on Monday changed his plea from ‘not guilty’ to ‘guilty’ in the sex-for-mark case.

Mr Akindele was dragged to court over his demand for sex from one of his students Monica Osagie.

The prosecutor Shogunle Adenekan said all parties in the matter have reached plea bargain and pleaded for a suspended sentence for the accused.

The matter was stood down for one hour.
