The immediate past governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele has left the Kuje Correctional Centre after perfecting the terms of his bail.
His lawyer Mathew Burkaa, who is a senior advocate of Nigeria, confirmed this to Channels Television on Saturday.
He said Mr Emefiele left the facility on Friday.
Last month, the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja granted N300 million bail to Emefielenwho is being prosecuted for alleged procurement fraud.
Justice Hamza Muazu granted the bail with two sureties in like sum.
The judge said the sureties must have certificates of occupancy and titles of properties within the Maitama District of Abuja.

Buhari’s nephew gave Emefiele approval to redesign naira notes – CBN investigator
Justice Muazu disagreed with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission that the ex-CBN governor was a flight risk and could jump bail, jeopardise investigation or threaten the security of the country if granted bail.
Emefiele is standing trial on six counts bordering on procurement fraud to the tune of N1.2 billion.
The Nigerian government may file fresh charges against Emefiele after a special investigator Jim Obazee, following four months of probe, alleged Emefiele and others embezzled billions of naira and committed other gross financial offences.
In his report, Obazee alleged that Emefiele bought over banks through proxies without proof of payment, engaged “in fraudulent cash withdrawal of $6.23 million”, perpetrated fraud in the redesign of the naira, while he allegedly kept 543.4 million pounds in the United Kingdom.
