The eNaira speed wallet application, which was pulled down from Google Playstore, has been restored.
This comes nearly 24 hours after it was taken down.
The app had garnered more than 100,000 downloads before the sudden disappearance.
While the eNaira speed wallet was inaccessible the eNaira speed merchant wallet remained available on Playstore. The latter has more than 10,000 downloads as of press time.
TheCable had quoted an app developer Oseni Tobi who said reviews on eNaira speed wallet probably dropped to one star — which often leads to removal by Google.
“Google can remove the app if the reviews on that particular app dropped to one — a typical example was the Crowwe app by Garba Adamu,” he said.
But spokesperson of the Central Bank of Nigeria Osita Nwanisobi said on Thursday at a CBN Fair in Ebonyi that the removal was to help the apex bank upgrade the app’s functionalities.
