England national team coach, Gary Southgate, has confirmed an international friendly clash between his side and the Super Eagles in June.
Both nations will use the test game to prepare for the FIFA World Cup in Russia.
England will face the Nigerians on June 2, 16 days before clashing with another African side, Tunisia in Group G.
“We’re going into a World Cup where we will play African and Central American opposition,” the Three Lions boss stated on Wednesday.
“So we get that with the games against Nigeria and Costa Rica, but it’s not just about the games we’ve got in the group but hopefully beyond that as well.
“We want to expose the team to different styles and different experiences.”
Before games against Nigeria and Costa Rica, England will play the Netherlands and Italy in March.
“All of the feedback from the team before Euro 2016 was really positive, the players enjoyed it and it was definitely well received by the public,” added Southgate.
“It’s nice when we have an opportunity to take the team on the road.”
Both nations have previously faced off twice, with the Europeans unbeaten in both.
Nigeria have been seeded with Argentina, Iceland and Croatia for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
