Enugu Rangers took a giant step towards a fifth Aiteo Cup trophy with an emphatic 4-2 victory over Nasarawa United on Wednesday.
Record seven-time Nigerian champions, Rangers, have featured in more finals than any other side.
Playing at the prestigious Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, the Flying Antelopes were favourites to reach their 13th final.
The Enugu-based had crushed holders Akwa United in the quarter-final, nothing less than victory was anticipated.
And Gbenga Ogubote’s men didn’t disappoint.
Despite conceding two quick goals, Rangers recovered in style to reach the final.
The former champions showed mental toughness to overturn a two-goal deficit.
They await either Kano Pillars or Katsina United in the final.
Victory for the Antelopes will mean automatic qualification for the Confederation Cup.
