Nollywood actor, Ernest Asuzu, has stated that he has recovered after suffering a stroke.
The Imo native revealed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) which was published on Friday.
He said, “Although I am still on medication, I feel much much better and I really thank God for my life because it’s been years of a big challenge for me.”
He also thanked the wife of the Anambra State Governor, Ebere Obiano, for settling his medical bills.
He said, “I am happy to be back in my house in a better health condition which is as a result of the adequate treatment I received through a God-sent woman in Anambra State. God really used Mrs Obiano to save my life, I cannot thank her enough for coming to my rescue at the peak of my health challenge and conditions, God bless her good heart.”
The ‘Burning Desire’ actor made headlines when a video showing him on the streets of Lagos was shared on social media in January.
In February, the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) announced it was making plans to help Ernest get back on his feet.
President of the guild, Emeka Rollas, said, “Other AGN members have begun to respond to the directives of the association toward assisting Asuzu. Ernest Asuzu is one of us. I have always identified with him since he developed stroke until there was a break in communication between them, but thank God that we have reconnected.”
