Actor and filmmaker Ernest Obi has led a candlelight procession for actor Junior Pope and other film practitioners who died in a boat accident on April 10.
The actor and several of his colleagues including Emeka Ani gathered at the National Stadium in Lagos on Wednesday in honour of their colleagues.
In a video uploaded on his Instagram account, Ernest Obi urged his colleagues to ensure their safety first during production to avoid accidents.
The actor also lamented the ill-treatment of crew members by producers as he encouraged actors to “take a stand.”
The candlelight procession was also held in other parts of the country including Rivers State, Enugu, Kwara, Abuja, Anambra and Delta.
Junior Pope passed away on the night of April 10 after several attempts to resuscitate him failed. The actor alongside make-up artist Abigail Frederick, and the production crew; Friday, Olanti and Precious drowned in Anam River on their way back from the set of Another Side of Life, a movie produced by Adanma Luke.
