The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has debunked reports that it prohibited the use of Ghana-Must-Go bags by travellers at airports.
News platforms have been quoting a November 24 circular purported from FAAN, titled ‘Re: Prohibition of Usage Of Ghana Must Go’ and signed by Henok Gizachew described as manager of airport services.
The reports said the ban is particularly for passengers travelling through the country’s international airports.
Mr Gizachew was quoted as saying that the bags were banned because they have “cost the airlines huge loss and also damaged the airports conveyor belt system.”
The reports further said, “He noted that passengers who wish to use Ghana Must Go to travel must have the same well package in carton or hardcover of rectangular size.”
The FAAN, however, clarified on Friday via X that Ethiopian Airlines issued the directive for its flights.
“Kindly note that @flyethiopian issued a prohibition of the use of Ghana must go on their flight and not FAAN. Thank you,” the agency wrote.
