Veteran Nollywood actress, Eucharia Anunobi, has taken a swipe at pastors who send their assistants to open new “branches” without providing financial assistance needed to do us.
The Glamour Girls star, who traded risqué movie roles to become associate pastor of the Fresh Oil Ministry International Church, in Egbeda, Lagos, made her thought known in an Instagram message on Friday morning.
“Did you consider that those pastors have families who depend on them? Whose ministry are they even proving? Theirs or yours? Definitely not theirs because this church is your ministry, not theirs? If they were going out to start their own ministry, then we can tell them to go and prove their ministry,” she wrote.
The 52-year-old is particularly miffed at those who do not empower such pastors financially but expect them to send tithes in a matter of months.
Drawing a parallel with business organisations, she argued that “even unbelievers won’t open a branch of their business without equipping the shop for their manager”.
She then cited the example of a young pastor sent to her village by a big church headquartered in the city.
“He has no place to rest his head with his family and my family back home had to take him in. It hasn’t been easy with him yet the rich G.O of his church wouldn’t assist him financially. He laid hands on him and believes that’s enough to support him in the mission field,” she revealed.
Describing religion as insensitive, wicked and dangerous she dared those not comfortable with her message to block her.
