Actress turned evangelist, Eucharia Anunobi, has lost her only son, Raymond Ekwu, to sickle cell anaemia.
The 15-year-old reportedly died on Tuesday a few days after his mother returned from the United States of America where she attended the launch of Who is Who in Nollywood USA magazine.
Raymond was the product of Eucharia’s failed marriage to Charles Ekwu.
The actress has severally accused Ekwu of abandoning her and the child.
Raymond’s birthday 10th birthday in 2012 coincided with his mother’s ordination as a pastor.
It was celebrated at Heritage Orphanage Home, Anthony Village.
Speaking about being a single parent in an interview with New Telegraph in 2015, Eucharia said: “It was not a deliberate choice that I have made, it came by chance, it came by mistake. God does not kill His children who have made mistakes. He would rather sustain them and tell them that He is the owner of all things. The Lord has been sustaining me as a single parent I don’t think about it, all I know is ‘God, you are the one that created me and the child that you gave to me.’”
