Nollywood actress and preacher, Eucharia Anunobi, on Thursday released pictures from the 16th posthumous birthday of her son, Raymond Ekwu.
The birthday was celebrated at an orphanage in Lagos on Friday, February 16 in keeping with a tradition established by mother and child years ago.
Among Eucharia’s colleagues present were Chinyere Wilfred, Ifeoma Okeke, Halima Abubakar, Anita Joseph and Uche Elendu.
“This is thanking all the great people who came out to join me celebrate my late son, Raymond Ekwu’s posthumous 16th birthday at one of the orphanages in Lagos last Friday, the 16th February,” she said in a social media post on Thursday.
In another post, she wrote: “To you my son, Raymond, my adorable giant, the best child a parent could ask for, I say happy birthday as you continue to rest in the bosom of our Lord JESUS CHRIST”
Raymond, the only product of Eucharia’s marriage to Charles Ekwu, died from complication arising from sickle cell anaemia on August 22, 2017, and was buried at Vaults and Gardens Cemetery in Ikoyi, Lagos on September 5.
The actress had in 2010 dragged her ex-husband to court claiming N100million on the grounds of “abandonment, irresponsibility and assault.”
In a recent interview with Saturday Punch, Eucharia, 52, said the teenager was killed by an unnamed doctor.
“I have not removed my mourning clothes, neither have I opened my hair since the death of my son.
“I have only been wearing white since his demise and the reason I have maintained this is because my son was a good boy to me, but he was mistakenly killed by the doctor.
“My son was not supposed to die. He was a very wonderful child,” she said.
