Evang. Ebuka Obi distances self from woman’s false N500m house testimony

Founder of Zion Prayer Movement Outreach, Evangelist Ebuka Obi, has denied any personal connection to the woman who recently testified in his church, claiming she had acquired a house worth N500 million.

The cleric addressed the controversy in a video on Sunday circulating on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, emphasising that the woman lied against God and the church’s altar—not against his ministry.

During a church program, the woman testified that God had blessed her with the luxury property.

However, investigations later alleged that she is a local drink seller and had fabricated the story.

Reacting to the backlash, Prophet Obi stated that she was merely one of many worshippers who come to share testimonies.

He dismissed claims of a setup, alleging that bloggers had been sponsored to tarnish his name.

“I said it last month that my name would be all over the media. I said the media would be shaking, making it look real, but it’s all fake,” he said.

He further clarified, “Now, do I know her? Does any member know her? She came to testify, just like hundreds of others who come here daily. If the house she claimed to own is fake, then it is her who lied before God and His altar—not the ministry.”
