Former Barcelona goalkeeper, Victor Valdes, is now playing Cupid, as well as football, after launching his own dating app.
After conquering football on a domestic, European and world stage with the Catalans and Spain, Valdes is now taking on the dating world with his ‘Hola Dating’ app.
The 34-year-old, now at Premier League side, Middleborough, believes the app will work perfectly for people who come across someone they are interested in but are too anxious to initiate a conversation.
Valdes took to Twitter to explain the video after keeping his first clean sheet for Boro on the weekend during the 0-0 draw with title-chasing Arsenal.

“Here I’m on the app and the system says ‘Hola’ and gives me a brown-orange colour.
“The system is giving me a completely random colour,” said the former Manchester United goalkeeper.
“Then, I show this message to the person I want to start a conversation with and that person can search for me and my profile thanks to the colour I’ve shown them. So then, we can start a conversation in a private channel.
“We think that in the dating world, you can feel attracted to someone on the bus, the metro, in a cafe, or in a college or club.
“But, you don’t necessarily have the courage to approach them and break the ice. Therefore you need this app.”
The app is not ready for release yet and as it is still being designed and written by software engineers at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
