A former Ondo State deputy governor, Lasisi Oluboyo, has sued Ondo State Government over alleged non-payment of his outstanding emoluments and monthly pension arrears.
Mr Oluboyo is praying the court to compel Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to pay his gratuities and pensions.
Oluboyo was deputy to ex-Governor Olusegun Mimiko from 2015 to 2017.
Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Ondo, Adekola Olawoye, had, in a letter, confirmed Oluboyo’s entitlements to his gratuity, but he was allegedly silent on his monthly pensions as passed into law by the State House of Assembly.
The former deputy governor has, however, insisted that all his entitlements must be paid as stipulated in the laws of the state.
Listed as defendants in the case are Akeredolu, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, and Ondo State Pensions Board.
Also in the suit, Oluboyo wants the court to award him N10 million as damages to compensate for his “untold hardship, emotional distress, scorn and ridicule” which the government has allegedly exposed him to.
The court is yet to fix a date for hearing of the suit.
