Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland and former governor of Oyo State Rashidi Ladoja has lost one of his wives Tinuade Ladoja.
Aged 71, she died on Monday morning after a brief illness.
Ladoja’s media aide Adeola Oloko confirmed her death. He said, “Yes, it is confirmed. She is dead. May God repose her soul.”
Tinuade was an influential member of pastor-in-council of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), the highest decision-making body of the church.
The CCC Ikeja Parish 1 Cathedral, the parish she attended before her death, wrote in a Facebook post: “It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. We submit to his will #farewell.”
Head of the parish’s media unit Olukoya Benjamin said: “Two days ago, she had some feelings and was taken to hospital, they said she still ate yesterday before she gave the ghost earlier this morning.
“She was a strong member of the women in council. She was appreciated with an award recently at their 40th anniversary.”
