Former governor of Borno State Ali Modu Sheriff has lost his mother Aisa.
Sheriff, also a former chairman of the PDP national working committee, announced his mother’s demise in a statement on Sunday.
Mother of the politician, who is now a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), died aged 93 in Abuja following an undisclosed protracted ailment, according to the statement.
“This is to announce the death of Hajja Aisa the Mother to Former Governor of Borno State and Chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) H.E. Sen. (Dr) Ali Modu Sheriff.
“She died in Abuja after a protracted illness, at the age of 93,” the statement said.
Sheriff noted that his mother would be buried on Monday, July 1 at the residence of the Late Galadima Modu Sheriff along Damboa Road in Maiduguri, Borno State capital.
“May her soul rest in perfect peace, forgive all her sins and grant her Aljannah Firdausi. Ameen,” the statement added.
