Aliyu Abubakar, first son of the former minister of state for industry, trade and investment Aisha Abubakar, has died in an auto crash.
The minister’s three other children who were also involved in the accident are currently hospitalised.
President Muhammadu Buhari, in a statement on Wednesday by his spokesman Garba Shehu, sympathised with the former minister.
The president’s message was delivered by his aides to the minister and her husband Kabiru Mukhtar. Buhari described the death of the young Aliyu as extremely sad.
He prayed for quick recovery for those hospitalised.
“He (Buhari) urged doctors, nurses and other health workers to do their best for other victims of the accident under their care,” Mr Shehu said.
Buhari also prayed to Allah to repose the soul of the deceased and grant fortitude to the family and the friends of the deceased to bear the loss.
Besides Shehu, those who joined in delivering the president’s message to the bereaved family include senior special assistant to the pesident on special duties, Ya’u Darazo; and state chief of protocol, Lawal Kazaure.
