Former minister of education, Oby Ezekwesili, has celebrated an ex-newscaster at Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Bimbo Oloyede.

The former presidential candidate wrote glowingly of Mrs Oloyede in a tweet on Thursday.

Mrs Ezekwesili said: โ€œAmazing journalism ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ of her time. Still charging on and reproducing herself through training of young women in the media space. Hereโ€™s my beautiful, brilliant and ageless friend, Bimbo Oloyede of the Bimbo Roberts fame when NTA was still NTA. Sheโ€™s forever a ๐ŸŒŸ.โ€

Oloyede was nominated as a newscaster for NTAโ€™s 9 pm Network News when NBC was reorganised into NTA.

Her first broadcast was in April 1976. She left NTA in 1980 and co-founded a media company with her husband.
